The best RSS notifier that I found on Mac !! Great integration with the desktop, can choose on which screen display the tab, configure notification trigger by keyword, simply drag and drop a new feed, … love it !!!

Ive bought this app to have a Feedly client on my desktop. Indeed, the description says : "Introducing Feedly sync" or "syncing with Feedly". But this is only the feed list which is synchronized ! You can read this in the App Help : "NewsBar using its own high speed RSS engine for reading feeds DIRECTLY from sources. Its NOT only a Feedly client. NewsBar is fully functional without Feedly account." The lack (wanted ?) of precision about this feature is a shame.
Very easy, clean and pratical. I really like it.
Buttons dont work. It doesnt recognize several rss links Im trying to use. The worst reader ever. For god sake, fix this "app". Can I have my my money back????
The best thing about this app is that it syncs to iCloud. The interface is pretty good. I will probably at some point get the iPhone app as well. I get a problem with one of the feeds I subscribe to where loads of items in it just keep coming back as new, even after I have marked them as read. This only happens to one of my feeds, and it is a weird feed that has other issues too, but it never used to happen when I was using Feedly. Considering the app market, I think this should be priced at 2.99, rather than 4.99. I don’t see why it should be more expensive than other similar apps. I think the app should add the ability to see just one feed, if I wanted to, by clicking an option inside the context menu. Having only the ability to look at whole folders of feeds at once can sometimes be inconvenient.
Sehr schöner RSS Reader, als "Bar". Please give us more customizations in regards to how the Bar looks. Thanks
Editors can use Newsbar RSS Reader to stay focused on new topics. Perfect for online magazines.
I loved it before the most recent update. Now its even better! I have it up and running as I work all day, everyday.
Ive been looking/hoping for a Mac RSS reader like this for a long time. Very intuitive, slick and attractive. I gave it 5 stars because it is absolutely great for what it is. However, the addition of saving to Instapaper would be nice (as would mulitple Google Reader accounts in separate feed), but thats just being greedy. Great work!
Great app, it does everything advertised - and does it very, very nicely. Definitely worth the money.
NewsBar is the best Ive found for displaying my selection of RSS feeds on my desktop. Optional translucent background makes it unobtrusive on my desktop and pretty snazzy looking too! One gripe: I wish the bar would automatically scroll along like a news ticker. I had a news ticker app on my old mac but cant find one that works for me any more, and it would be great (5 stars) if NewsBar had this feature. I told the developer so when I first downloaded the previous version, and was told this was being considered, but I guess Im still waiting :( Also would be nice to have the option to position horizontally along the bottom of my screen (like my old news ticker app). Overall, though, a great app for keeping up to date on all my RSS feeds!
If you are looking for a functional RSS reader then you have found it. I love it!
Pros : The best design Ive seen in RSS apps. Great customizations and the translucid background makes it perfect for keeping an eye on the news whitout having to swap between applications. Cons : Still has some problems though : does not always respond correctly to mouse input, sometimes goes blank and/or crashes. The Google Reader integration is perfect, but maybe its not made to handle hundreds of subscriptions? Verdict : Overall, although some anoyances, probably the best buy Ive made on the RSS side :)
I havent had a lot of xperience with this App as of yet, but so far it has been great Impressive design, you are able too customize each source and through key words select what is most important to you.
The title says what I like in software. This app does it. It does what I wanted, which was; replace the missing RSS reader in the current Apple Mail program. Im not a heavy e-news reader. I followed the Apple feed in Mail and, to be honest, didnt notice that it disappeared until I tried to add another feed. My needs were pretty simple and I didnt really want to add Google Reader to my routine. I just wanted a simple, on-my-laptop presentation. This fit the bill and I have no complaints. Thank you, Andras, for a straight forward solution. I can even add Google Reader with this later, if I want to.
The app works as advertised. It has a lot of flexibility in terms of display and placement. Initially I was hesitant at paying a 5 buck price, especially for something that was and, in my opinion, still should be included as part of Safari and OS X mail, but I bought it because the features seemed to be more extensive than other readers and reviewers rated previous versions so highly. it does work well. Its well thought out and Mac users will feel quite at home with it. If you need an RSS reader, you likely wont be disappointed with this.
Easy as 123 to sign up for things. looks clean. no complaints.
I was really impressed with this app. It is very customizable and lets me stay on top of my favorite feeds on part of my screen space, GREAT! And good customer service.
Easy to set up and looks good, but the viewing screen is tiny! Any way to maximize it and get a full screen viewing experience?
It works as predicted with feeds updated instantaneously. Wish there was the ability to suggest feeds that you may be interested. Also, there are many feeds that are duplicated throughout the categories that you have created kinda makes things redundant.
